Systems Administrator
PingWind is seeking a Systems Administrator to support our customer in the Chicago, IL area. Responsibilities include support for existing servers, design and implementation of new servers, management of a server environment consisting of RedHat Linux, CentOS, and Windows 2016 operating systems, performing updates, upgrades, and patching of server systems, reviewing and addressing vulnerability reports and security scans, engaging vendor support for hardware issues, implementing changes in preproduction and production environments, coordinating and completing updates, upgrades, and patching, troubleshooting and resolving application issues, working closely with software and database teams to ensure seamless application functionality, managing user access to servers, renewing SSL certifications for preproduction and production environments prior to certificate expiration, addressing and resolving CPU, disk, memory, and performance issues, maintaining virtual machines effectively, utilizing VA's ticketing system to input and track all requested changes and work performed, and may require limited after-hours support for maintenance or troubleshooting efforts.
Requirements include a bachelor's degree in technology related field (or equivalent work experience), 3+ years of proven experience as a Systems Administrator, preferably in a government or large enterprise environment, subject matter experience proficiency with Linux servers, proficiency in managing RedHat, CentOS, and Windows 2016 servers, strong knowledge of server virtualization and VM management, experience with vulnerability management, patching, and server hardening, familiarity with SSL certificates and associated tools, excellent troubleshooting skills for server-related issues, willingness to provide after-hours support as required, ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively, and exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Salary Range: $79K -110K. The pay range for this job is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) job responsibilities, education, certifications, experience, as well as internal equity mapping and alignment with market data, or other applicable laws.
