Job Description Summary /n /n /n /n /n/t - /n/t Please note the hours for this role are 80 hours biweekly Monday thru Friday 11am - 730pm /n/t /n/t - /n/t including weekends, holidays and on call. /n/t /n/t - /n/t /n/t /n/t - /n/t GENERAL SUMMARY /n/n/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t /n/t/t The Radiological Technologist performs radiologic procedures and examinations under the direction of radiologists or delegating practitioner to produce radiographic studies which are used in medical diagnosis to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions, or lesions within the body. Reports to department leadership. /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t /n/t /n/t - /n/t ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES /n/n/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Provides services using imaging modalities including but not limited to conventional x-ray, Computed Radiography (CR), Digital Radiography (DR), Fluoroscopy, Bone Density, and Urodynamics. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Maintains and applies knowledge of radiation protection standards; knowledge of the function of the major divisions of the skeletal system and major organs; and knowledge of the physical concept of energy and the property of X-rays and electric circuits to perform diagnostic procedures and to assist as a member of a medical team in radiologic examinations. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Provides services within and inpatient, Operating Room (OR), Emergency Department (ED), and outpatient setting. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Evaluates radiographs for technical quality. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Performs, assists, and accountable for various clinical laboratory procedures including but not limited to specimen collection, processing, storage, handling, and transporting of specimens. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Exercises professional judgment in the performance of radiographic procedures. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Provides patient care essential to radiographic procedures. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Recognizes patient conditions requiring immediate action. /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t Supports successful onboarding, orientations, training of new Radiology modality team members. /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Performs all other duties as assigned. /n/t/t /n/t /n/t /n/t - /n/t LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS /n/n/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Required Licenses and/or Certifications /n/n/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Current licensure as a Radiologic Technologist by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required at the time of hire. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training required at time of hire or must be obtained within 45 days of hire. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Preferred Licenses and/or Certifications /n/n/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t None preferred. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t /n/t /n/t - /n/t MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS /n/n/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Required Education and Experience /n/n/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t High school diploma or equivalent required at the time of hire. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t At time of hire, a record of completion for all education, licenses, training and/or certifications is required. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Continuous certification and/or maintenance of state licensures, certifications, training, educational and application requirements is required during employment. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Preferred Education and Experience /n/n/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t None required. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities /n/n/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Knowledge of diagnostic radiology principles and procedures as well as operation and maintenance of radiologic equipment. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and empathetic team player who takes initiative. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Excellent time management skills, able to shift priorities and able to work independently and problem solve in a fast paced, fluid environment. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Possesses strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills as well as, the ability interact with and build collegial relationships with diverse individuals. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t/t - /n/t/t/t Analytical skills necessary to determine best method of providing requested radiographs based on the individual. /n/t/t/t /n/t/t /n/t/t /n/t /n/t /n/t - /n/t WORKING CONDITIONS /n/n/t /n/t/t - /n/t/t Radiology/Imaging areas work environment with rare exposure to physical discomforts due to unpleasant odors from specimens and chemicals. Occasional exposure to infectious agents when handling specimens or hazardous materials but potential for personal harm or injury is reduced when proper safety and health precautions are followed. Regular exposure to radiation. Minimum chance of injury once established safety procedures are followed. Ability to stand for long periods of time wearing a lead apron. Ability to lift or turn disabled patients. Although radiation hazards exist in this occupation, they are minimized by the use of lead aprons, gloves, and other shielding devices, and by instruments monitoring exposure to radiation.
