Per Diem Staff Pharmacist in Carson, WA

Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A critical access hospital located on the WA/OR border is seeking a relief pharmacist to provide per diem coverage. This is an excellent opportunity for a pharmacist with recent hospital experience to support a small-town medical facility serving a close-knit community.

Responsibilities:

Provide pharmacy services during day shifts (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM) without on-call duties
Collaborate with the pharmacy technician team to ensure efficient medication dispensing
Utilize Cerner and Pyxis systems to maintain accurate medication records and inventory
Ensure compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards for medication management
Participate in initial training sessions to become familiar with hospital protocols and workflow

Desired Qualifications:

Minimum of one year of current hospital pharmacy experience
Ability to adapt quickly to a small hospital environment and work independently
Proficiency in using Cerner electronic health records and Pyxis automated dispensing systems
Strong communication skills for working with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

Location:

Small town situated on the Washington/Oregon border, serving a 25-bed critical access hospital

Schedule:

Coverage required on select days in July and August, plus Fridays in September
Shift hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
