Sr. Accountant

Senior AccountantWe are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Michigan City. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional with strong financial reporting skills who can take ownership of the full month-end close process and provide meaningful analysis of company performance and margins.Key ResponsibilitiesOwn the full month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements, P&L, Balance Sheet, and cash flow reporting.Perform detailed margin analysis, variance analysis, and profitability reporting.Investigate financial variances and provide recommendations to improve margins and overall financial performance.Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and ensure compliance with accounting policies and GAAP.Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insight and support business decisions.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting.Qualifications4+ years of progressive accounting experience.Strong experience with financial reporting and analysis.Proven ability to independently manage the complete month-end close process.Strong understanding of margin analysis, profitability, and financial variances.Excellent Excel and analytical skills.Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.The ideal candidate is a hands-on, analytical Senior Accountant who can do more than simply prepare financials. You will be expected to understand why the numbers are moving, analyze margins and profitability, identify opportunities, and communicate financial insights to leadership.
