Position Summary Assistant Store Managers are the heart and soul of Lids, fostering passion for sporting and fashion goods, meeting customer needs, and ensuring every store area is engaged. They hold full responsibility for store performance, amazing team environment, and exceptional customer service. Key Responsibilities People & Training Act as manager on duty for scheduling, customer complaints, and other issues. Manage associates using Lids training programs, goal setting, and regular follow‑up. Administer progressive discipline steps, including verbal and written warnings. Create an inclusive and fun team environment, aligning work with company objectives. Reinforce Lids brand standards, dress code, and supportive relationships. Schedule and staff the store, calling in associates during unexpected peaks. Assist in recruiting and training new personnel. Enforce compliance with company policies, including inventory, funds, and property safety. Perform other assigned duties. Customer Experience Lead, execute, and assist in selling strategy to meet KPIs and sales targets. Resolve customer feedback, escalations, and urgent requests, ensuring a “make it right” approach. Promote Lids membership programs and special in‑store offers through employee education. Adhere to visual merchandising guidelines, signage, and store cleanliness. Maintain a professional appearance following the company dress code. Operations Execute company‑level directives, promotions, and initiatives. Follow Policies & Procedures Manual to maintain safety. Maintain store technology and equipment (MPOS, Lids Custom, etc.) through daily audits and updates. Handle service requests and maintenance for store facilities and supplies. Manage cash, including accurate till opening/closing and bank drops. Support inventory audits and preparation. Open and close the store following procedures. Product & Inventory Management Protect company assets per Lids retail policies. Prepare store schedules within wage control guidelines. Accurately manage inventory: receiving, transferring, pricing changes, and counts. Organize backroom for efficiency. Execute visual merchandising layout and seasonal changes. Maintain store look and feel with daily VM and minor changes. Adjust pricing signage and promotions during operating hours. Skills & Knowledge Produce sales results while minimizing loss. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work unsupervised.
