Job Title: Occupational Therapist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Home Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: New Mexico license required Certifications: MOAB, NBCOT, BLS Must-Have: - MOAB Certification - National Board Certification in Occupational Therapy - Current Basic Life Support certification Description: MOAB Certification is required. If the traveler does not already have the MOAB certification, they will receive a 4-hour de-escalation course during their first week. If they do not pass, their contract may be subject to cancellation. Home Health travelers will be required to do a second set of fingerprints upon arrival for background checks. This is to ensure the safety of patients, especially if there are children in homes. The position involves working primarily with adults and geriatrics. Travelers will be assigned 8 to 12 patients daily. First-timers are accepted for this position. There are no weekend requirements. Productivity points and standards are set at 27 points for a 40-hour week. Each visit is weighted differently. Mileage is reimbursed at the federal IRS standard mileage rate. Candidates should be open to floating within scope to meet facility needs. Interdisciplinary support is available for varied diagnoses and trauma events. Preferred skills include adaptive equipment use, assessment, rehabilitation techniques, and discharge planning. Modules may be required as part of ongoing education. Travelers without MOAB certification must pass an in-person training during orientation week or their contract may be terminated. Travel experience is preferred, with emphasis on relevant skills in home health care.
