Palliative Care Nurse-PRN

The University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center (UM CRMC) located in Charles County, Maryland, offers a 98‑bed medical center with comprehensive acute and preventive care services, supported by 373 medical staff and a legacy of more than 80 years of community health excellence. Job Description Knowledge of advanced directives and ability to assist patients and families with completion when needed. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Knowledge and skills to screen patients for palliative care needs. Ensure effective communication with patients, caregivers, families, and all disciplines to facilitate a successful transition across the continuum of care. Maintain confidentiality and rights of all patient and departmental documents. Effectively communicate and teach stages of chronic conditions. Effectively communicate end‑of‑life care and make referrals to hospice care when needed. Qualifications Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland. At least two years’ experience in a hospital setting. Preferred to have a BSN or other related bachelor‑level degree. Certification in palliative care not mandatory to start, but requested to be completed within two years of employment. Authentic belief and acceptance of palliative care principles.
