IT Assistant

Employee Type FT Exempt Description The IT Assistant provides day-to-day technology support to employees while also assisting the accounting department with routine administrative and financial tasks as needed. This is a hands-on role for a junior-to-mid-level professional with experience or interest in IT support, help desk operations, computer systems, or office technology. The ideal candidate is organized, service-oriented, technically curious, and willing to learn basic accounting and bookkeeping processes. The position works closely with the Senior IT Manager to support approximately 80 employees with Microsoft 365, computers, user accounts, printers, office technology, equipment tracking, and routine troubleshooting. The role will also assist the Senior Accountant with data entry, records maintenance, invoice processing, reconciliations, reporting, and other accounting support tasks. Prior accounting experience is helpful but not required. Training can be provided for routine accounting processes. Primary IT Support Responsibilities Assist the IT department with day-to-day employee technology needs, including: Set up and configure computers, printers, phones, and other office technology Assist with new employee technology setup and user accounts Support employees with password, login, and access issues Provide basic support for Microsoft 365 and office applications Troubleshoot common hardware, software, printer, and connectivity problems Prepare and maintain computers and equipment for employee use Maintain IT equipment, inventory, and assignment records Document common IT procedures and troubleshooting steps Assist with conference room and office technology Coordinate with outside technology vendors when necessary Escalate more complex technical issues to the Senior IT Manager Assist with other IT projects and technology initiatives as needed Accounting Support Responsibilities Assist the accounting department with routine tasks as needed, including: Enter data into accounting and ERP systems Assist with processing vendor invoices and expense reports Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities Help maintain accounting records and electronic files Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations Prepare basic spreadsheets and reports Assist with inventory and purchasing documentation Support payroll-related administrative tasks Assist with month-end activities as directed by the Senior Accountant Maintain confidentiality of financial and employee information These responsibilities can be learned on the job, and the Senior Accountant will provide guidance on company-specific accounting procedures. Qualifications Education Associate's degree, technical certification, or coursework in Information Technology, Computer Systems, Business, Accounting, or a related field preferred. Equivalent practical experience will also be considered. Experience 1–4 years of experience in IT support, help desk support, computer support, office technology, technical customer service, or a related role preferred Experience supporting employees in a small or mid-sized business environment is a plus Accounting, bookkeeping, or office finance experience is helpful but not required Technical Skills Candidates should have basic familiarity with: Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Office applications Computer and workstation setup Printers and common office hardware Password and user account support Basic hardware and software troubleshooting Basic network and connectivity troubleshooting Technology inventory and equipment tracking Accounting Skills Prior accounting experience is helpful but can be trained.
