Forklift DriverThe Forklift Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of finished pallets from the bagging machine and onto the pallet wrapper, and properly storing them for shipment. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining the flow of finished products from production to storage, ensuring accurate inventory management and adherence to safety protocols.Essential Job FunctionsTransport finished pallets into the storage warehouses using a forkliftWrap all finished pallets securely and place them in designated storage areasMaintain accurate counts and inventory of products entering storage areasEnsure proper housekeeping in the work areaComply with all safety rules and company policiesOperate forklifts safely and efficientlyAssist in organizing the storage area for optimal space utilizationReport any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to supervisorsCollaborate with production and shipping teams to ensure smooth product flowOther duties as assignedRequired QualificationsAbility to complete P.I.T. Forklift certification (provided by the company)Physical capability to maintain a fast pace for up to 3 hours continuouslyBasic math skills for inventory countingAttention to detail and ability to follow instructions preciselyPreferred QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentBilingual in English and SpanishPrevious warehouse or material handling experienceFamiliarity with inventory management systemsBasic computer skills for data entryForklift certificationWork EnvironmentThis position operates primarily in a warehouse environment within a food processing facility. The role involves infrequent movement, sitting for extended periods, and exposure to cold temperatures. Forklift Drivers must be comfortable working around moving machinery and in a fast-paced environment. The job will require lifting and maneuvering heavy loads using motorized forklifts. Shift work may be necessary, including potential early morning, evening, or weekend shifts to meet production and shipping schedules.
