Policy Analyst

The Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI) is one of the largest trade associations in the nation, representing more than 300 heating, ventilation, air-conditioning (HVAC), water heating, and commercial refrigeration manufacturers from all parts of the world. Ensuring human comfort, productivity, and safety while practicing environmental stewardship is the mission of AHRI. Through our certification program, standards, advocacy, and other activities, we strive to help save energy, improve productivity, and ensure a better environment.

AHRI has an opening for a Policy Analyst  on our Advocacy team. The Policy Analyst is responsible for assisting with and providing support to programs relating to all phases of state, local, and federal legislative activity.

Duties are as follows:

• Research, track, and analyze proposed or emerging federal, state, and local regulations to determine the impact on the Association’s policy agenda in the areas of energy efficiency and the environment.
• Perform research on and assist with writing public comments in response to regulatory rulemaking proposals.
• Assist in the preparation of high-quality comments, presentations, testimony, and other advocacy materials.
• Assist in staffing AHRI committees, working groups and task forces, as assigned.
• Monitor regulatory activities to identify those most likely to result in regulation on energy efficiency and environmental issues.
• Coordinate and collaborate with other AHRI departments to achieve AHRI objectives.
• Maintain rosters of various committees, working groups, and task forces supporting assigned activities to ensure timely communications with members.
• Prepare draft agendas, take minutes, and maintain records of activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 2 years related work experience through a combination of real work experience and relevant internships.

AHRI offers a competitive salary and a full benefits package including employer contributions to HSA plans, 401(k) and Roth(k) plans in a friendly work environment. Employees are eligible to participate in the alternate workplace program after 90 days of employment with a performance rating of meets expectations or above. The salary range for this position is $65,000.00 to $75,000 . 00.
