Responsibilities Performs design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems With limited supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of more complex components, structures, and sub-assemblies Responds in a timely manner to all requests and explores all avenues within authority and makes appropriate referrals to other sources Makes thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improving own work and/or group’s work Establish requirements for materials, structural components, and functional systems Release results as design data after review from other engineers Document results of design activities Basic Qualifications Requires bachelor\'s in mechanical engineering/aerospace engineering & 2 years of related experience or Master’s Degree in Engineering Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Preferred Qualifications Current active Security Clearance Working knowledge of NX Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes, additive manufacture experience desirable Understanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM) Ability and willingness to travel Knowledge of additive manufacturing/material/manufacturing metallic structures/composites #J-18808-Ljbffr AllianceIT Inc
