Water Resources Engineer in Training

Job Summary Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is seeking an Engineer in Training professional to support the Water Resources design team in our Kansas City office. The position focuses on water-related projects, including drainage/flood control, potable and supply water infrastructure, and sanitary/wastewater infrastructure engineering services. Essential Job Functions Willing and able to travel as occasional travel to project sites may be necessary. Effective written and oral communication skills. Proven ability to work in and support a team environment. High level of independence, confidence, and strong work ethic. Strong problem‑solving skills and use of fundamental engineering principles. Technical writing skills. Responsibilities and Duties Support field investigations or assessments. Perform design engineering calculations. Assist in the design of various types of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure. Provide data collection, analysis, and reporting. Participate in writing and production of project reports. Work under the direct guidance and mentorship of senior engineers. Required Experience BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Water Resource Engineering from an EAC/ABET‑accredited college or university. Masters degrees will receive due consideration. EIT Certification (e.g., passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam). 1+ year(s) of relevant experience, preferably in construction plan production, design calculations, and/or technical writing. Knowledge of Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil3D) or Bentley (MicroStation, InRoads) is a plus. Experience with commercial engineering modeling software such as WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD, and USACE HEC programs is a plus. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) working experience is a plus.
