Vice Chair of Operations, Department of Radiology – Boston, MA Tufts Medical Center’s Department of Radiology is seeking a Vice Chair of Operations (VCO) to join our growing Department in the heart of downtown Boston. The VCO will be a clinical leader responsible for day‑to‑day operational aspects, including managing budgets, ensuring efficient workflows, contributing to strategic planning, and collaborating with other departments. The VCO will also participate in departmental and institutional committees related to quality and safety. Position Summary The VCO will optimize clinical operations based on the departmental vision, execute physician staffing and scheduling, catalyze interactions among radiologists, technologists, nurses, and administrative staff, and optimize workflow for radiologists. The role includes overseeing the overlap of clinical operations and educational programs, working closely with the Chair, Vice Chair of Quality, Section Chiefs, Executive Director, Director of Clinical Administration, Chief of Technologists, and residency/fellowship leadership. The VCO will also be an expert in clinical radiology, provide teaching and mentoring to residents and fellows, and serve as the primary point of contact for Section Chiefs and residency/fellowship program directors addressing clinical operational issues. Department Overview Tufts Medical Center (TMC) is a level‑I trauma center with expanding transplant services, including live donor liver, renal, and cardiac transplants. Advanced cardiac imaging services are growing in collaboration with the Cardiology department. Neuroradiology provides advanced imaging techniques with a state‑of‑the‑art MRI scanner. The department offers service lines in thoracic, breast, GI, GU, hepatobiliary, hem/onc, GYN, head and neck, CNS, chest, abdominal, MSK, breast, and nuclear medicine imaging. One of our two ACGME‑accredited Diagnostic Radiology Residency Programs and two fellowship programs (MRI and Emergency & Trauma Radiology) have achieved continued accreditation.
