Experienced Financial Analyst, Portfolio Valuation and Fund Advisory Services - Multiple Locations

Scope Within our Portfolio Valuation practice, our clients include many of the world’s largest hedge funds, private equity funds, direct lending funds, business development companies, and other asset managers. We advise them on valuations of illiquid debt, equity, and complex securities to meet investor and regulatory financial reporting requirements. Financial Analysts in this practice are fully integrated members of engagement teams and work on projects that include valuation of complex businesses, securities, and transaction structures. Responsibilities Support FVA portfolio valuation teams in providing valuations of illiquid debt and equity securities for hedge funds, private equity funds, and business development companies. Perform financial statement analysis and other quantitative and qualitative assessments. Review client investment memoranda, board presentations, debt and equity agreements, and financial models. Compile statistical summaries, develop financial ratios, and present analyses using standard formats. Gather and review published financial information such as public company filings, press releases, research reports, and Bloomberg data across industries. Identify comparable public companies and M&A transactions using S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, and industry classification systems. Construct and review valuation analyses, including public company comparisons, precedent transactions, and discounted cash flow models using Houlihan Lokey proprietary models. Research economic conditions, industry trends, acquisitions, divestitures, and investment attributes of publicly traded and privately held securities. Participate in due diligence meetings, communicate with clients, and respond to auditor questions regarding valuation analyses. Design and draft client deliverables. Assist in fee proposal preparation, including scoping discussions, pitch materials, and internal pricing committee memoranda. Perform ad‑hoc research, analytics, and support for FVA teams as required. Coordinate with internal support teams for engagement invoices, working paper files, and compliance procedures. Participate in discussions with legal counsel as required. Assist with marketing initiatives for prospective and existing clients. Basic Qualifications Minimum of one year of work experience at an accounting or valuation firm in a valuation capacity. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Applied Economics. Strong analytical abilities. Preferred Qualifications Excellent understanding of financial statement analysis and ability to work through key assumptions. Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications. Strong knowledge of Excel modeling, including integrated cash flow modeling. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members. Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional work ethic. Experience with Big Four, Independent Valuation Consultants, and/or transaction advisory services is a plus. Compensation and Benefits Houlihan Lokey offers a competitive total compensation package, which may include discretionary incentive compensation. The estimated salary range for this role is $70,000.00–$120,000.00, subject to variation based on qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Benefits include a comprehensive benefits package.
