Inpatient Phlebotomist (Medical Lab), Wage

Role Overview Job in this group is responsible for managing and operating laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or clinical support. The role includes ensuring equipment maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and support of quality control measures. It also involves drawing blood from patients, students, or research participants for medical tests, donations, or research studies, with accurate collection, labeling, and safe handling of samples. Responsibilities Manage and operate laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or clinical support. Ensure equipment maintenance and adherence to safety protocols. Draw blood from patients, students, or research participants for medical tests, donations, or research studies. Accurately collect, label, and safely handle blood samples in compliance with laboratory and safety standards. Support quality control procedures and documentation. Communicate and interpret information as required by the job procedures. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Minimum 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a complex healthcare setting. Basic knowledge of job procedures and tools obtained through work experience. Ability to work under moderate supervision and handle routine to moderately complex problems. Physical Demands Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent traveling, bending/stooping and climbing (ladder, steps); repetitive motion: extension and flexion at wrist. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift, push or pull less than 20 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, noise, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Compensation The starting base rate for this role is $17.45 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
