Position Type: Temporary (Through October) Location: Washington, DC Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Hybrid, in office on Wednesdays) Salary: $$26.44/hr to $27.88/hr Key Responsibilities: Attend meetings on the Hill, execute extensive note-taking, and report key insights back to the policy team and policymakers. Coordinate and schedule meetings, manage calendars, and support the operations of our Policy Fellowship program (including coordinating monthly seminars and tracking reimbursement requests). Proactively manage policy tasks and small-scale projects to ensure deadlines and team workflows stay on track. Monitor science and public policy activities in Congress and assist with compiling regular policy updates, briefs, and fact sheets. Act as a welcoming, professional point of contact for external stakeholders, federal/Congressional staff, and organization members. Qualifications: 1 to 3 years of professional experience, ideally within a policy, research, or advocacy environment (relevant internship experience counts!). Bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, or a related discipline is preferred (or equivalent professional experience). A naturally friendly, outgoing, and proactive communicator who is comfortable speaking with anyone-from internal team members to Congressional staffers. Exceptional organizational skills with a knack for managing logistical moving parts without letting details slip through the cracks. An independent worker who doesn't wait to be told what to do, but rather anticipates team needs and takes initiative. Excellent written and oral communication skills, with a strong ability to synthesize complex meeting discussions into clear, actionable notes. Must reside in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area (DMV region) to attend required weekly in-office days on Wednesdays and regular meetings on Capitol Hill. Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $26.44 - $27.88 Per Hour
