Instructional Designer

Overview

Our Energy client is launching a new initiative, designed to upskill and reskill their current workforce through a modern Learning Experience Platform (LXP). They are seeking a creative and experienced Instructional Designer to help build engaging, effective, and scalable learning experiences that support employee growth, career mobility, and organizational development.

This role will collaborate closely with HR, organizational development teams, and subject matter experts to design and develop courses that blend technical training with soft skills development.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop engaging, learner-centered courses using tools like Articulate 360, Rise, or similar.
• Translate business needs and workforce skill gaps into effective learning solutions.
• Partner with HR and organizational development to align content with career pathways and promotion readiness.
• Create content that supports both technical upskilling and soft skill development.
• Ensure all learning materials are accessible, inclusive, and aligned with adult learning principles.
• Manage multiple course development projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines and quality standards.
• Evaluate and iterate on course effectiveness using learner feedback and performance data.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Organizational Development, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience designing and developing eLearning content, preferably in a corporate or utility environment.
• Proficiency with eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate).
• Experience working with Learning Experience Platforms (LXPs) is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM, etc.).
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
