Job Title: Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years required License: WV or Compact RN License required; pending license accepted Certifications: BLS; ACLS preferred Must-Have: IV Start Telemetry PCU/IMC experience Description: The Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care for pre/post-operative surgical cardiovascular patients and medical cardiac patients who require progressive care and monitoring. The role includes managing vascular patients, amputations, and detox patients. The nurse will float to other areas as needed. The expected patient ratio is 1:4, with a goal of maintaining a 4:1 ratio. The stretch ratio may reach 5:1, considering staffing circumstances, such as call-ins and emergencies. The clinician will work 3x12 or 4x12 night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Every other weekend is required. Additionally, the nurse will be responsible for various procedures such as managing ostomies, chest tubes, wound vacs, CPAP/BiPAP, central lines, PICCs, and various drips. The Telemetry unit includes interdisciplinary support from teams such as IV, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, and Pharmacy. Patient demographics primarily cover adults. Daily census is approximately 28 patients. Special equipment and administration will include managing cardiac drips, blood products, and dysrhythmias. Candidates must be able to accommodate blocked schedule requests. Charting is conducted using Cerner.
