Senior Principal, PLM Product Marketing Location: Boston, MA Position Overview Senior Principal role on PTC's PLM product marketing team, driving strategic messaging, positioning, and go-to-market execution for the PLM portfolio and cross-portfolio solution stories, while collaborating across the organization. Responsibilities Shape the PLM narrative by defining positioning against competitors, shaping perception across markets and key stakeholders. Bridge product to portfolio, crafting cross-portfolio solution stories that connect PLM to CAD, ALM, SLM, IoT, and related technologies. Influence the highest levels, acting as trusted strategic advisor to product leaders, sales executives, and senior marketers. Raise the bar for how PTC approaches product marketing across the PLM team. Strategic Messaging & Positioning Develop differentiated messaging and positioning for key PLM portfolio areas targeting engineering leaders, IT decision makers, and C‑suite executives across Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Equipment, Medical Devices, Electronics & High-Tech. Collaborate to build cross-portfolio solution narratives articulating PLM’s value in the broader tech ecosystem. Go‑to‑Market Execution Drive GTM strategy and execution for PLM launches, feature releases, and platform milestones. Partner with Growth Marketing and Demand Generation to design campaign strategies that accelerate pipeline and engagement. Competitive & Market Intelligence Conduct deep competitive analysis and market research to inform positioning and identify whitespace opportunities. Engage with analysts, press and industry influencers to strengthen PTC’s market position. Sales Enablement & Customer Advocacy Design high-impact sales enablement materials: battle cards, solution guides, competitive comparisons, presentation assets. Develop buyer personas, customer journey maps and proof points to accelerate deal velocity. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Product Management to translate roadmap features into market‑facing value propositions. Work with Industry Advisors, Solutions Marketing, Customer Success to ground narratives in customer outcomes. Collaborate with fellow product marketers for consistency and best practices. Qualifications 8+ years in product marketing, solutions marketing or GTM strategy in B2B enterprise software, with depth in PLM or adjacent manufacturing tech. Deep PLM domain expertise, preferably from a PLM vendor or discrete manufacturer. Proven ability to develop strategic messaging and positioning that differentiates in competitive markets. Experience with portfolio‑level and solution‑level marketing, crafting integrated solution stories. Track record of influencing without authority across complex organizations. Strong analytical skills to synthesize market data, customer insights and competitive intelligence. Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related field. Nice‑to‑Have MBA or advanced degree. Experience leveraging AI and generative AI tools for product marketing workflows. Experience with cloud/SaaS transformation of on‑prem enterprise software. Familiarity with CAD, ALM, Simulation, IoT, SLM and how they intersect with PLM. Background in Automotive, Aerospace & Defense, Industrial Equipment, Medical Devices, Electronics & High‑Tech. Experience with analyst relations and competitive benchmarking frameworks. Hands‑on experience with PLM platforms (Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia, Arena, etc.). Compensation & Benefits Annual salary range: $131,000 – $170,500.
