Senior Cloud / DevOps Engineer – DISA Citadel SupportFull-Time Ft. Meade, MDActive Secret clearance required **Contingent** Referral Bonus: $1,000Sign-on bonus: up to $2,500 Position OverviewWe are seeking a Senior Cloud/DevOps Engineer to support the Defense Information Systems Agency Citadel mission by designing, automating, securing, and maintaining modern enterprise infrastructure and cloud-based platforms in a highly secure DoD environment.The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with expertise in cloud technologies, infrastructure automation, CI/CD pipelines, container orchestration, and DevSecOps practices. This role will work closely with systems engineers, software developers, cybersecurity teams, and government stakeholders to modernize infrastructure and improve operational efficiency across mission-critical systems.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, deploy, and maintain secure cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments supporting DISA Citadel operationsDevelop and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application and infrastructure deploymentsImplement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or similar toolsBuild and maintain containerized environments using Docker and KubernetesAutomate system provisioning, configuration management, monitoring, and operational workflowsSupport DevSecOps initiatives by integrating security controls and compliance checks into deployment pipelinesCollaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with RMF, STIG, and DoD security standardsMonitor platform performance, troubleshoot infrastructure issues, and optimize system reliability and scalabilitySupport cloud migration, modernization, and technology refresh initiativesDevelop technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, and deployment proceduresParticipate in incident response, disaster recovery planning, and operational readiness activitiesMentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering best practices and continuous improvement effortsRequired QualificationsBachelor 's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, platform engineering, or systems automationExperience supporting DoD or federal government environmentsStrong experience with:AWS, Azure, or hybrid cloud environmentsCI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOpsTerraform, Ansible, or similar IaC/configuration management toolsKubernetes, OpenShift, and container orchestration technologiesLinux administration and shell scriptingMonitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, or GrafanaExperience implementing DevSecOps and automated security practicesUnderstanding of RMF, STIG compliance, ACAS, and DoD cybersecurity requirementsActive Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570/8140 certificationActive Secret clearance requiredPreferred QualificationsAWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes, or Terraform certificationsExperience supporting enterprise DISA or mission-critical defense systemsFamiliarity with Platform One, Iron Bank, or DoD cloud initiativesExperience with serverless architectures and microservices designKnowledge of Zero Trust architecture principlesExperience supporting classified cloud environmentsDesired SkillsStrong troubleshooting and analytical skillsAbility to work in fast-paced operational environmentsExcellent communication and collaboration abilitiesStrong understanding of automation-first operational modelsAbility to balance mission priorities, operational support, and engineering modernization effortsWhy Join UsSupport mission-critical national defense operationsWork with advanced cloud and DevSecOps technologiesOpportunity to influence modernization and automation initiativesCollaborative engineering environment with career growth opportunitiesCompetitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageAbout Semper Valens Solutions:Semper Valens Solutions, Inc.
