Welder This role offers the opportunity to perform MIG welding and general fabrication in a high-volume manufacturing environment in the Indianapolis area. You will work with heavy steel components, use a variety of hand and power tools, and contribute to the production of steel and metal products on 1st or 3rd shift as part of a collaborative team. Responsibilities Perform MIG welding on steel and metal components according to production requirements and quality standards. Read and interpret blueprints and production drawings to determine welding requirements and specifications. Use a tape measure accurately to verify dimensions and ensure components meet required tolerances. Manually handle and move materials and parts weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday. Operate common hand and power tools such as hammers, pliers, screwdrivers, wrenches, drills, and grinders safely and efficiently. Grind and finish welds and metal surfaces to meet structural and cosmetic standards. Assist with fitting and fabrication of structures, sheet metal, and other assemblies as needed. Use hoists and other material-handling equipment to move heavy parts and assemblies safely. Support general labor tasks on the production floor to help the team meet project deadlines and production goals. Work effectively in a team atmosphere and collaborate with others on larger projects. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area. You will join a well-established metal fabrication operation that takes pride in building high-quality steel and metal products. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $24.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
