Amazon Web Services is looking for a highly motivated Solutions Architect to help accelerate our growing business as part of the World Wide Public Sector practice. As a Solutions Architect within AWS, you will have the opportunity to help shape and deliver on a strategy to build broad use of Amazon's utility computing web services directly with customers and our ecosystem of system integrators, partners, and solution providers. You will own the technical engagement and ultimate success around specific implementation projects, define implementation architectures, respond to RFPs, develop deep expertise in AWS technologies, and serve as a subject‑matter expert on security for customer applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical engagement and success around specific implementation projects.
• Define implementation architectures and respond to RFPs.
• Develop deep expertise in AWS technologies and broad know‑how around how applications and services are constructed on the AWS platform.
• Serve as a subject‑matter expert on security as it relates to customer applications and services.
• Provide exceptional technical design and thought leadership while working with a world‑class sales and business development team.
• Lead efforts to capture and share best‑practice knowledge among the AWS solution architect community.

Key Areas of Experience

• Technical presentation experience – white board, small and large group presentations.
• Technical – web services development/deployment experience, cloud computing.
• Operational – web site/services operations, management, and security.
• Ability to travel 30%.

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures.
• 4+ years of specific technology domain experience (e.g., software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics).
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR and experience working with a healthcare provider or an organization working with healthcare customers.
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
• Knowledge of AWS services such as Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), Elastic Block Storage (EBS), and Simple Storage Service (S3).
