Job Summary:

We are currently seeking an Assistant Restaurant General Manager to join our team. The Assistant Restaurant General Manager is an essential member of the management team who is responsible for all aspects of the dietary department's operations including but not limited to, supervising, evaluating, disciplining, and hiring all levels of dietary staff, food productivity/quality, sanitation, service and budget. In addition,  the position will understand and assure compliance with applicable licensure standards. The position requires a flexible schedule, working outside of regular business hours.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Lead, plan, organize, develop and implement ideas, programs, projects, and staff following the highest quality standards in conjunction with the Administrator.
• Supervise, coach, discipline, and develop all dietary staff to fulfill their responsibilties in quality and quanity so that all aspects of daily operations are executed with the highest standard.
• Monitor service levels of food for temperature, appearance, and presentation.
• Ability to train, work, and direct cooks and kitchen staff as well as train and develop serving staff in proper table service.
• Maintain high levels of sanitation in all areas of the kitchen and dining room at all times.
• Menu planning and development for exciting and interesting food items.
• Knowledge regarding special diets.
• Ordering of food and non food product to ensure availablity for service and maintaining budgetary guidelines.
• Ensure all equipment is maintained and operational at all times.
• Manage scheduling for the department to ensure proper staffing and supervision.
• Maintain visibility during meal services
• Effectively managing resident charges and communication with Accounts Receivable.
• Conduct regular in-service training for dietary staff and other departments as needed.
• Organize and supervise special catering functions.
• Ensure all State, County, and HACCP Sanitation, temperature, storage, etc; regulations are adhered to at all times.
• Conduct and manage regular resident Food Service meetings.
• Work as Manager on Duty on assigned weekends and holidays.
• Perform other appropriate duties as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:

• Must have at least 3 years food service supervision and background preferrably from a similar setting.
• Graduate of an approved culinary arts program, preferred
• Sensitivity to senior adults and their needs.
• Computer literacy required.
• Ability to prioritze responsibilities and effectively manage and balance resident needs and departmental needs.
• Abiltiy to motivate residents and other staff.
• Maintain professional and effective communication and cooperation with all staff levels and departments, residents, families, and vendors.
• Ability to perform responsibilities within budgetary requirements and remain a good steward of resources.
• Creativity, innovation, and the ability to be flexible.
• Ability to understand and assure compliance with applicable licensure standards.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent guest relations skills.
