The Oregon state law & rules exam must be taken in the Oregon office which can be difficult to go in and complete for travelers and can delay the process. The license rep in Oregon suggests the applicant apply and submits all requirements. They will receive an email from Oregon with fingerprinting instructions (complete ASAP) and she suggests they come to Oregon 2-3 weeks (should have fingerprint results by then) prior to job assignment to complete the laws and rules exam in the office so they can leave with their license the same day they complete and pass the exam. The fingerprints have a 30-day expiration date from the date the board receives them if there is no application received!
