Gastroenterology physician job in New York :

A hospital system in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Gastroenterologist to join their team.

About the Opportunity:

Schedule: Monday-Friday
Hours: 40 hours per week
Setting: Hospital based outpatient

Responsibilities:

Diagnose, manage, and treat a wide range of gastrointestinal (GI) tract and hepatobiliary (liver, pancreas, gallbladder) disorders in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
Evaluate and treat conditions such as GERD, peptic ulcer disease, Celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn's and Ulcerative Colitis, chronic liver diseases, and pancreatitis.
Perform and interpret a high volume of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures.
Provide specialized consultation for patients admitted to other hospital services.
Collaborate closely with other specialties to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.
Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment options, dietary changes, and self-management of chronic conditions.
Supervise and mentor GI fellows, residents, and medical students in their clinical, cognitive, consultative, and procedural skill development.
Serve as teaching faculty for the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Training Program and the Department of Medicine Internal Medicine Residency Program.
Comply with all regulatory and confidentiality standards, maintaining accurate medical records.

Qualifications:

Licensed to practice medicine in the State of New York
Board Certified/Eligible in Gastroenterology

Board Certified or Board Eligible Medical Doctor with or w/o US residency with current US work visa.
