Work Environment The Physical Therapist Assistant will work onsite at our state-of-the-art hospital facility in Glen Cove, NY. You will be part of a collaborative healthcare environment that promotes continuous learning and professional development. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, allowing for a balanced work-life experience while making a significant impact on patient care. Key Responsibilities Assist licensed physical therapists in executing customized treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs. Provide direct patient care through hands-on therapy techniques, helping patients regain mobility and function. Educate patients and their families about therapeutic exercises and self-management strategies to promote effective rehabilitation. Monitor and document patient progress meticulously during therapy sessions to inform treatment adjustments. Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure holistic patient care that aligns with their rehabilitation goals. Implement trigger point therapy techniques, when appropriate, to alleviate muscle tension and pain. Support occupational health initiatives within the facility to promote workplace wellness and prevention programs. Patient Population / Client Focus Your role will encompass working with patients from various age groups, including children, adults, and the elderly, who are experiencing a range of conditions requiring rehabilitative services. These could include post-surgical recovery, chronic pain management, injury rehabilitation, and mobility enhancement related to neurological, orthopedic, or cardiopulmonary issues. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy or a closely related field. Active state certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant is a must. At least 2 years of relevant experience in a physical therapy setting. Strong foundational knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and hands-on patient care. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to deliver patient care with empathy and compassion. Preferred Experience Experience in a fast-paced hospital environment is advantageous. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to document patient care accurately. Previous work with a wide diversity of patient demographics. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this full-time position is between USD 50,000 to 70,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
