Major Duties (WG 04, 05, 06):
- Operates and performs operator maintenance on various types of motor vehicles up to 10,000 pounds.
- Loads and unloads cargo, using appropriate tie-downs.
- Performs flagging duties for heavy equipment operators.
- Corrects and reports park hazards.
- Transports passengers and cargo on public roadways in various traffic, road, and weather conditions.
- Occasionally leads a crew in the performance of these duties.
- Drives various sizes of trucks with trailers to transport equipment, personnel, and tools to jobsites to conduct routine trail maintenance.
Working Conditions:
Incumbent is required to work outside and is exposed to extreme hot and cold temperatures. Operates vehicles in all types of weather in a controlled traffic environment. Drivers are exposed to dirt and fumes, and to the possibility of cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or from falling objects when loading and unloading the vehicle.
