This position has a wide range of job responsibilities, depending on the area of specialization. These duties might include working on road, bridge, building, steel structures, or other large projects. This position is classified as “safety-sensitive.”Essential FunctionsDesigns temporary structures used during construction with emphasis on safety considerationsInspects installed equipment and technologies. Solves issues that may arise.Directs foremen or workers on-siteConducts research and accurately reports on project statusPerforms quality control inspections and checks work for compliance with contract documentsVerifies proper materials are used, and that the installations meet project timelines and requirementsAffirms safety compliance and enforces proper protocols and PPE on siteMay oversee project budget and communicationsQualificationsA Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or closely related fieldA minimum of one (1) year of previous experience as a field engineer or similar roleWell-versed in technical aspects of field projects, including machinery, equipment, and construction processesThorough understanding of safety guidelines (OSHA statutes)Attention to detailOutstanding communication skillsAn analytical mind and strong problem-solving abilityAbility to work in adverse weather and occasional overtime and weekendsWorking ConditionsTravel – This role will be expected to travel to project locations, sometimes nationallyConstruction site environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb.
