Patient Access Concierge – Outpatient Vascular Surgery Office – Troy, NY – FT This is a phone‑based position to register patients, schedule appointments and surgeries, verify demographic, clinical, financial, and insurance information during the pre‑registration process, accept point‑of‑service payments or provide guidance for payment options, and clear the patient for service delivery. The position is located at 2 New Hampshire Ave, Troy, NY. Benefits include: Competitive pay, paid time off, tuition reimbursement, etc. What You Will Do Verify patient identification, demographic information, and insurance coverage. Accept point‑of‑service payments. Enter patient information accurately into the appropriate hospital information system(s). Refer patients with questions regarding financial liability to appropriate resource(s). Accept medical authorization or referral forms, if appropriate. Process key documents to facilitate obtaining insurance information. Provide payment estimates for out‑of‑pocket costs. Educate patients/families on the use of registration kiosks or online systems. Identify routine issues and escalates to Lead Patient Access Concierge. What You Will Need High school diploma; associate degree preferred. One to three years of experience within a hospital or clinic environment, an insurance company, managed care organization or other health care financial service setting performing medical claims processing, financial counseling, financial clearance, accounting or customer service activities. Consideration may be given for commensurate customer service experience in another industry. Knowledge of insurance and governmental programs, regulations and billing processes (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Champus, and Supplemental Security Income Disability), managed care contracts and coordination of benefits is preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, medical record coding (ICD‑10, CPT, HCPCS) is preferred. Must have a basic understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Excellent verbal and written communication skills, data entry skills and organizational abilities. Superior interpersonal skills are necessary for interacting with customers and colleagues. Accuracy, attention to detail, ability to work independently, and good time management skills are required. Must be a self‑starter, comfortable working in a fast‑paced, results‑oriented, collaborative, people‑centered environment. Pay Range $17.59 - $21.80 per hour. Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
