Laboratory - Lab Specialist

Travel Histologist Tech (732) Days Shift: 05:00-13:30 or 09:30-18:00 13 Week Assignment, 36 Hours

HTL certification from ASCP is required (not just HT cert). Must be a certified histo tech (HTL) with (QIHC) immunohistochemistry stains and troubleshooting of programs and protocols. Two years of experience in hospital setting required. Must be flexible.

General Information: Number of Beds - Number of Staff 2 FTEs Type of staff: Day Shift 2 Histotechs Night Shift - None Patient Ratios Type of equipment: 2 Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers, 1 Roche Special Stainer, 3 Sakura tissue processors, 1 Thermofisher Embedding system, 4 ThermoFisher slide labelers, 1 Sakura H&E Stainer/Coverslipper, 4 Leica Microtomes EMR

Typical procedures performed on unit(s): Logging incoming tissues Embedding tissues Cutting tissue for staining Place slides on staining equipment Filing slides and cassettes
