SupervisoryResponsibilities

Provides shift-level guidance, coordination, and oversight of assigned security duties and procedures. This role supports operational execution and adherence to security protocols but does not include direct authority over hiring, termination, compensation, or formal disciplinary actions.

DualReportingClarification: This role operates under dual reporting relationships, receiving direction from Retail Operations leadership and Security/Risk Management leadership.

1. PrimaryOperationalReporting: Reports directly to the General Manager at the assigned retail location for day-to-day operations, scheduling, and store-level priorities.
2. OrganizationalRetailReportingLine: Assistant Manager > General Manager > Field Operations Manager > Regional Director of Retail > Vice President of Growth
3. SecurityProgram(Dotted - Line)Reporting: Reports to the Security Manager for all security-specific programs, policies, procedures, standards, training, and operational security needs.

PositionSummary

The Retail Security Supervisor supports retail operations by serving in a dual-function role that combines reception and security responsibilities within the licensed retail facility. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, customers, patients, and visitors; assessing and de-escalating situations; responding to workplace injuries and security incidents; and supporting regulatory compliance within retail operations.

EssentialDutiesandResponsibilities

1. Maintainasecureandcontrolledentranceandexitforthelicensedretailestablishment.
2. Serve as the primary reception point for customers, patients, and visitors, including greeting individuals, answering phones, and providing authorized information in a professional manner.
3. Conductcustomerintakeproceduresbyverifyingagethroughscanningvalididentificationanddirectingcustomersthroughinitialpurchasingsteps.
4. Issue,document,andmanagevisitorbadgesandensurevisitorsareproperlyescortedwhileonfacilitypremises.
5. Enforcefacilityaccessrules,includingdenyingentryorrequestingindividualsleavethepremiseswhenrequiredbypolicy.
6. Monitorsurveillancesystemsandsecurityequipmenttoidentifysuspiciousactivityandrespondtoregulatoryrequestsasrequired.
7. Performroutineandperiodicchecksofelectronicsecuritysystems,includingalarms,cameras,andaccesscontrolsystems,toensureproperoperation.
8. Assess developing situations and engage with customers, patients, or employees to de-escalate conflicts, disturbances, or disruptive behavior in a calm and professional manner.
9. Respondtoalarms,disturbances,injuries,accidents,securityincidents,andemergencysituations.
10. Leadinitialresponsetoworkplaceinjuries,includingprovidingFirstAidandAEDsupportandassistingwithincidentdocumentationandfollow-upreporting.
11. Initiate,document,andmaintainaccurateincidentreports,witnessstatements,andsecurityrecordsrelatedtosafety,security,orcomplianceevents.
12. Coordinatewithemergencyservicesorlawenforcementwhenescalationisrequired.
13. Protectcompanyassetsfromtheft,diversion,assault,fire,andothersafetyorsecurityrisks.
14. Communicatesecurityconcerns,incidents,andongoingissuesduringshifttransitionstoensurecontinuityofcoverage.
15. Maintaincustomerandpatientconfidentialityinaccordancewithapplicableprivacyandsecurityrequirements.
16. Applycompanysecurityandsafetyprotocolsconsistentlyindailyoperations.
17. Reportcustomer,patient,oremployeeissuestosupervisorystaffandassistwithinvestigationandresolutionasappropriate.
18. Maintainorganizationandcleanlinessofsecurity,reception,andmonitoringareas.
19. Maintainopen,professionalcommunicationwithmanagement,securitypersonnel,andretailstaff.
20. Supportretail,security,andoperationsleadershiptoensuresafeandsecurestoreoperations.

All security, reception, surveillance, incident response, and customer interaction activities are performed in accordance with company procedures and regulatory expectations.

ScheduleandWorkHours

WorkEnvironmentandPhysicalRequirements

This position requires working in environments where cannabis products are present, which may include exposure to marijuana odor and plant-related airborne dust particles.

This is a customer and patient-facing position and requires the ability to see, hear, and communicate effectively in order to interact with customers and patients, assess and de-escalate situations, monitor security systems, respond to incidents, and perform essential job duties.
