Role: Telecommunications Project Manager

Contract Length: 6 months CTH

Location: Hybrid; Bay Area, California

Rate: $60/hr on W2

Responsibilities:

• Manage the full lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure projects across data center and field environments, including development of project proposals, planning, decision-making, and fiscal management.
• Exercise supervision over professional, technical, and administrative personnel supporting assigned projects.
• Coordinate deployments involving network technologies such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
• Coordinate deployments involving transmission systems, including microwave, satellite, and fiber, as well as multiplexing.
• Oversee infrastructure initiatives spanning telephony, storage, servers, and common telecom facilities, including generators, batteries, telecom buildings, and mobile radio systems.
• Develop and execute IT governance frameworks, project methodologies, procedures, and processes.
• Manage directory services and configuration management projects.
• Manage security-related infrastructure and application projects.
• Build and lead motivated, collaborative, and productive cross-functional teams.
• Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization, and influence teams toward shared project goals.
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and issues, escalating as needed to maintain delivery commitments.

Qualifications:

Required:

• 8+ years of project management experience managing large, complex infrastructure projects.
• Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
• Experience managing directory services projects and configuration management projects.
• Experience managing security-related infrastructure and application projects.
• Extensive experience developing and executing IT governance, project methodologies, procedures, and processes.
• Proven ability to build motivated, collaborative, and productive cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with all levels of the organization, and to influence a larger team toward shared goals.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Highly analytical and methodical, with strong problem-solving ability on complex subjects.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and build a team of professionals who can complete tasks on time in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of technology, vendors, products, and development and support alternatives.
• Proven business skills, including financial analysis and budgeting.
• Demonstrated understanding of IT process and infrastructure and security-related projects.

Preferred:

• NERC CIP project experience is highly desirable.
• Experience working in data center and field-based environments.
• Familiarity with multiplexing technologies.
• Some exposure to application or telecom-related projects, in addition to infrastructure-focused work.
