Supervisor I – Talent Acquisition Branch / Recruitment / Sacramento Headquarters

The reporting location for this position is Sacramento, CA. This position will work under the general direction of the Supervisor II.

The Supervisor I plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and continuously evaluates the Department of Parks and Recreation's Statewide Recruitment Program. The incumbent provides strategic leadership for recruitment initiatives that support the Department's workforce needs and long-term organizational priorities by developing innovative talent acquisition strategies, strengthening candidate pipelines, and promoting California State Parks as an employer of choice. The Recruitment Chief directly supervises staff, manages complex recruitment projects, provides consultation to departmental leadership on recruitment strategies and labor market trends, and collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to implement innovative, customer focused talent acquisition programs.

The Recruitment Chief leads the development and implementation of outreach strategies that advance the Department's Strategic Plan goals, Workforce Plan, Succession Plan, and Talent Management Plan. This includes identifying current and future workforce needs, developing proactive recruitment solutions for hard-to-fill classifications, establishing partnerships with educational institutions, workforce organizations, community groups, Veteran employment partners, and professional associations, and expanding outreach to diverse candidate populations. This includes overseeing the collection, analysis, and reporting of recruitment data to evaluate program effectiveness, monitoring key performance indicators, identifying workforce trends, and supporting data informed decision making. Responsibilities include developing recruitment dashboards, analyzing hiring metrics, preparing executive level reports and presentations, and providing recommendations that improve recruitment outcomes, operational efficiency, and workforce planning efforts.

Training and Development Assignments may be considered.

This position is designated as telework eligible-office centered.
