Job Description

Exciting contract opportunities are available for paraprofessionals ready to make a difference during the 2026–2027 school year! Multiple positions support classrooms across Lehigh and Carbon Counties, with placements in both public schools and specialized settings. Assignments begin August 10, 2026, with limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy; full school hours resume later in August. Each role is designed to match evolving district needs, with candidate preferences considered where possible. Consistent, reliable attendance—and a commute of 35 minutes or less—are key for these impactful positions.

Key Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education environment
  • Able to work a school schedule (up to 35 hours/week; schedules vary from 7:00 AM–3:30 PM)
  • Must live within 35 minutes' drive of site and have reliable transportation
  • Meet at least one Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification (48 college credits, associate degree, or pass designated state/local assessment)—or able to complete certification during onboarding
  • Adept at supporting students with complex needs (e.g., multiple disabilities, emotional support)—including behavior management, physical support, toileting, and elopement
  • Willing to undergo all required background clearances (employment contingent upon clearance and HR approval)
  • Professional references from prior paraprofessional roles required

Position Duties

  • Support students in classrooms and school environments as assigned
  • Foster a safe and supportive learning space for students with diverse and/or intensive needs
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, therapists, and school staff
  • Provide behavioral support, assistance with daily living tasks, and one-on-one attention as needed
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and meet state certification requirements if needed

Be prepared for in-person interviews scheduled weekly and note that the hiring process may extend due to the future start date. Flexibility is appreciated, as work sites and assignments can change based on program requirements.

If you’re eager to contribute your skills and compassion to students in a dynamic school community for the upcoming school year, we want to connect! Apply now to embark on a rewarding journey supporting educational success.
