Warehouse Supervisor (Contract)

A Federal Government Agency is seeking an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to support warehouse operations at its Washington, DC facility. This is a full-time contract position running through the end of the current fiscal year, with the potential for extension into future option years based on performance and contract needs.

This role will work closely with the Warehouse Manager and will assume operational leadership responsibilities when the Warehouse Manager is unavailable. The ideal candidate will have strong warehouse operations experience, supervisory capabilities, and the ability to maintain efficient inventory, logistics, and distribution processes in a fast-paced government environment.

Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor will assist in overseeing daily warehouse activities, inventory control, material handling, shipping and receiving, and warehouse staff coordination. This position serves as a key operational resource and may be required to travel between warehouse facilities as part of normal duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the daily management and operation of warehouse activities.
• Support receiving, storing, tracking, and distributing inventory and supplies.
• Ensure accurate inventory records and stock accountability.
• Coordinate shipping, receiving, and material movement activities.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Enforce safety procedures and warehouse best practices.
• Provide leadership and operational oversight when the Warehouse Manager is out of the office.
• Monitor warehouse organization, cleanliness, and security.
• Assist with inventory audits, reporting, and documentation.
• Coordinate deliveries and movement of materials between warehouse locations.
• Maintain compliance with agency policies and procedures.
• Perform other warehouse and logistics-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required.
• Ability to successfully pass a background investigation.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of warehouse operations experience.
• Prior experience in a warehouse lead, supervisory, or team lead capacity.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Current forklift certification.
• Experience with inventory management and warehouse tracking systems.
• Ability to lift, move, and transport materials in accordance with warehouse safety standards.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting government, municipal, or public sector warehouse operations.
• Knowledge of inventory control systems and warehouse management processes.
• Experience coordinating logistics across multiple warehouse locations.
