Administrative Supervisor (RN)

Job Requirements Under the general supervision of the Director of Patient Care Services, an Administrative Supervisor coordinates, prioritizes, and optimizes patient flow activities by utilizing bed placement, staffing, and clinical information to optimize patient throughput. This role demonstrates values of compassion, discovery, excellence, diversity, and integrity. Develops, implements, and sustains efforts to improve patient flow in partnership with Patient Care Service Leadership and the Project Manager. Coordinates, collaborates, and communicates with administration, physicians, nursing management staff, patient and support services, and external agencies to facilitate the delivery of quality patient care. Communicates with Nurse Leaders and the staffing office to inform and assist in resource allocation. Serves as the on-site administrative resource for the facility during evenings, weekends, nights, holidays, and other designated time periods. Responds to organizational emergencies and issues and escalates issues per policies as needed. Ensures patient safety in the performance of job functions and through participation in hospital, department, or unit patient safety and capacity management initiatives. Work Experience Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: Ability to think critically, develop, plan, and organize projects. Ability to use computer systems/programs to manage clinical/administrative data. Previous experience with scheduling of staff for a large unit. Exceptional clinical expertise in Medical Surgical and Critical Care Nursing. General understanding of data collection and analysis. General understanding of financials for a hospital unit. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a 4-year / Bachelor's degree (Required) ~ Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland or eligibility through reciprocity (Required) ~ 0-1 year of clinical expertise in nursing specialty areas.
