Technical Business Analyst, Capital Markets We are seeking an experienced Technical Business Analyst with a strong background in Capital Markets, specifically in Reference Data, Market Data, and Regulatory Reporting. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in the financial services industry and a deep understanding of market data systems, data management practices, and the regulatory landscape affecting the capital markets. This individual will play a critical role in analyzing business requirements, optimizing data flows, and supporting compliance with regulatory reporting standards. Responsibilities Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications for data and system changes. Lead requirements gathering, technical evaluations and specifications, functional analysis, and testing in client engagements. Collaborate with project teams to manage stakeholder relationships and ensure timely delivery. Develop and execute test strategies and create clear test cases. Apply deep knowledge of Capital Markets, Reference Data, Market Data, and Regulatory Reporting to support solutions and regulatory compliance. Identify opportunities for transformational change and contribute to sales strategy and activities where appropriate. Required Skills and Qualifications 5+ years’ experience in the investment banking or financial services industry, with one or more areas of specialization. Experience with Capital Markets Reference Data Platforms. Practical knowledge of trade lifecycles and risk processes. Knowledge of one or more financial product sets including market structure, pricing methodologies, and risk characteristics. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including authoring business documents and presentations, running workshops, and stakeholder management. Experience in a software development environment. Ability to conduct careful, structured analysis on complex problems to support defensible conclusions and solutions. Detailed approach to gathering requirements to form coherent specifications and related material. Understanding of the software development lifecycle and the Business Analyst role within it. Experience in delivering test strategies and clear, concise test cases. 3+ years’ experience with Python and/or Java. Bachelors degree in finance, management, business, computer science, or computer engineering preferred. Desired Skills and Qualifications Some development experience and/or knowledge of SQL. Experience with business process modelling and optimization and its documentation. Ability to independently plan, organize and manage one’s own work and provide guidance for others. Hands-on experience with programming, querying, or scripting languages. Understanding of market or credit risk and related regulations. Ability to analyze regulatory requirements and produce formal specifications.
