Oral Surgery Assistant (33445)

Job description:

Position Summary:
The Prosthodontic and Oral Surgery Assistant performs a wide range of clinical duties to support the efficient operation of the practice. This role contributes to a positive patient experience and maintains strong working relationships with patients, staff, dentists, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare treatment rooms for all operative procedures
• Turn over rooms efficiently between patients
• Seat patients and obtain necessary consents
• Stock and restock rooms with instruments prior to procedures
• Sterilize operatories and instruments in accordance with OSHA and CDC guidelines
• Monitor schedule changes and procedure flow to prioritize tasks effectively
• Take and scan dental radiographs using office equipment
• Assist hygienists with charting accurately and efficiently
• Assist the dentist during procedures, including prosthodontic and surgical cases
• Perform laboratory duties, including pouring models and fabricating whitening trays
• Coordinate case submissions to dental labs, ensuring accurate entry into software and appropriate turnaround times
• Maintain an active CPR certification
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator or Dentist

Minimum Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a dental assisting program or relevant on-the-job training
• X-ray certification
• Active CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2–3+ years of professional experience
• Surgical experience preferred, but not required
• Experience assisting with All-on-4 cases is highly desirable
