Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Availability for 2 of 3 Major Holidays Required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Telemetry/PCU setting with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4 (1:3 on select units) for a patient population including cardiac, CHF, chest pain, pneumonia, respiratory, and sepsis diagnoses
• Monitor, read, and interpret telemetry strips independently; monitor techs are available on all units but RNs must be able to read and interpret their own cardiac rhythms
• Administer and manage set-rate and titratable drips including Cardizem, amiodarone, dobutamine, and heparin
• Float to MedSurg, Rehab, or ICU/CCU as needed based on unit assignment and staffing requirements; travelers are typically first to float
• Collaborate with Patient Care Techs, charge nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care
• Adhere to modified self-scheduling practices based on unit staffing needs; no block scheduling available

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in California
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• EKG interpretation course completion required
• Ability to work every other weekend and 2 of 3 major holidays

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a CCU or high-acuity stepdown unit preferred, particularly for higher-acuity unit placement
• Prior telemetry nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Experience with titratable drips is a plus, though not required
• Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented approach to patient care
