CGI Federal is seeking an Interior Design - Space Management Specialist to support the DHS in Washington, DC.

. The selected individual will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of projects. They will utilize Microsoft Project to organize tasks and workforce, and employ MS-Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel to support their work.
. Plan and define project scope.
. Conduct activity planning and sequencing.
. Perform resource planning.
. Develop project schedules.
. Estimate time and costs.
. Develop and manage project budgets.
. Identify risk factors and develop mitigation strategies.
. Communicate effectively with management, customers, and service providers.
. Maintain thorough documentation.
. Create charts and schedules.
. Identify and manage risks.
. Monitor and report on project progress.
. Provide team leadership.
. Complete and submit interagency agreement forms 7600A and 7600B for furniture purchases.
. Track production, delivery, and installation of furniture orders.
. Perform space planning and interior design, including: Investigating, identifying, and documenting client needs.
. Analyzing needs, proposing options, and developing specific solutions in collaboration with the client.
. Developing design documents, including contract working drawings and specifications.
. Managing design projects performed in-house or by contract, as appropriate.
. Interior construction: building systems and components, building codes, equipment, materials, and furnishings, working drawings and specifications, codes and standards.
. Contracting: cost estimates, bid proposals, negotiations, contract awards, site visits during construction, pre- and post-occupancy evaluations.
. Facility operation: maintenance requirements, traffic patterns, security, and fire protection.
. Aesthetics: sense of scale, proportion, and form; color, texture, and finishes; style and visual imagery. Required qualifications to be successful in this role
. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of project management, supported by completed project management training.
. For the interior design component, applicants must have at least a bachelor's degree from a program accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design or the Council for Interior Design Accreditation.
. Additional consideration will be given to applicants who have obtained a state license by passing the National Council for Interior Design Qualification exam.
. Strong creative and artistic skills are essential to create aesthetically pleasing designs for clients, selecting colors, textiles, fabrics, and interior furnishings that align with clients' interests and tastes.
. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate effectively with various professionals, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to design and construct interior spaces.
. Proficiency in industry-standard business and interior design IT tools is required, including MS Excel, MS Project, and Autodesk products (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchbook Pro).
. A Bachelor of Science in Interior Design from a program accredited by the Council for Interior Design Accreditation (CIDA), or its predecessor FIDER, is preferred but not required.
. DHS Suitability Clearance is required before performing work at DHS locations. Hourly Rate: $35.64/hour CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to: skill set level, relevant experience and training, and licensure and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
