The Cardiology Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in a single provider private practice, supporting cardiac care by preparing patients, recording vital signs, and assisting with diagnostic tests such as ECG and cardiac stress testing. This role requires direct patient interaction and expertise in handling specialized cardiology equipment to ensure accurate clinical documentation and effective patient communication.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for cardiac examinations and procedures
• Measure and record vital signs accurately
• Administer ECG tests using specialized equipment
• Document medical histories and clinical information precisely
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding procedures and care
• Perform cardiac stress testing to assist diagnostic evaluation
• Manage prescription refills by calling in prescriptions as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical assisting
• Proficient in ECG/EKG operation and interpretation support
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology
• Understanding and compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Excellent communication and attention to detail
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
• Experience performing cardiac stress testing is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of a Medical Assistant certification program
