Job Description

Performs echocardiograms and vascular studies.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care and evaluates outcome.
• Assess patient as appropriate for procedure and monitor patients during and after procedure.
• Performs all echo/vascular imaging services provided in the department according to policy and procedure and as directed by physician to demonstrate structures for interpretation and/or therapeutic interpretation.
• Performs exams using DI COM Procedures. Completes reporting according to CVIS workflow.
• Evaluates results of procedures and patient response and takes action accordingly.
• Performs duties and responsibilities such that delays are prevented and/or minimized.
• Provides safety measures for patients undergoing procedures.
• Monitors quality control of equipment and participates in continuing quality improvement in the assigned division.
• Evaluates images for technical quality, assuring proper identification is recorded.
• Assumes responsibility for equipment in assigned area and reports any malfunctions.
• Participates in CQI activities. Performs specific quality control duties as assigned.
• Communicates patient/family healthcare needs to the appropriate healthcare provider.
• Timely reporting of variances or significant events/results to the appropriate caregiver.
• Corroborates patient's clinical history with procedure, assuring information is documented and available for use by a licensed practitioner.

Qualifications

Education: High School or GED; Preferred is Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited ultrasound program

Experience: None

Licensure: Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or registry eligible and complete registry within 4 months of employment in both Echo and Vascular Imaging
