The CNA works closely with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to support patient care plans and monitor patient conditions. Minimum Qualifications: Current certification as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) from an accredited program. Completion of state-mandated background checks and health screenings. Basic understanding of medical terminology and patient care procedures. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Physical capability to perform patient care tasks, including lifting and moving patients as needed. Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a healthcare setting such as a hospital, nursing home, or assisted living facility. Additional certifications such as CPR and First Aid. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Bilingual language skills to support diverse patient populations. Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work well in a team environment. Responsibilities: Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding. Monitor and record patients’ vital signs and report any changes or concerns to the nursing staff. Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting a positive and respectful environment. Maintain cleanliness and safety of patient rooms and healthcare equipment according to infection control protocols. Collaborate with nurses and other healthcare team members to implement individualized care plans and ensure continuity of care. Skills: The required skills enable the CNA to provide direct patient care efficiently and safely, ensuring that all daily living needs are met with compassion and professionalism. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients who may have varying levels of understanding and for coordinating with the healthcare team. Attention to detail is critical when monitoring patient conditions and documenting vital signs accurately.
