Customs Entry Writer
Location: Mineola, NY (On-Site)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time

LOGISTEED America is seeking a Customs Entry Writer  to support import operations and customs brokerage activities in our Mineola, NY office. The ideal candidate will have experience preparing customs entries, HTS classification, ISF filings, and coordinating import clearances within a customs brokerage or freight forwarding environment.

Candidates with experience as an Import Coordinator, Customs Entry Clerk, Customs Associate, Brokerage Specialist, Freight Forwarding Coordinator, Import Specialist, or Entry Writer are encouraged to apply.

What You'll Do

• Prepare and process Customs entries for imported shipments.
• Classify commodities using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS).
• Prepare, transmit, and monitor Importer Security Filings (ISF).
• Review shipping documentation for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with customers, carriers, Customs officials, and government agencies.
• Maintain accurate shipment records in CargoWise and related systems.
• Investigate and resolve shipment discrepancies, clearance delays, and documentation issues.
• Support brokerage invoicing and related administrative activities.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One to two years of experience in C ustoms Brokerage , Freight Forwarding , Import Operations , or Customs Entry Writing preferred .
• Knowledge of or experience with Customs entry preparation and import clearance procedures.
• Experience with HTS classifications and tariff application.
• Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF) requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CargoWise One, HTS classification, or ISF filings is preferred. Training may be provided for candidates with relevant import or logistics experience.
• Experience working within a Customs Brokerage or Freight Forwarding environment.
• Knowledge of Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements.
• Experience with commodity classification and tariff application.
• Experience in handling metal commodities.

Compensation

$20.00 - $24.00 per hour

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, skills, and overall fit for the position.
