The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for implementing, managing, and optimizing a complex, geographically distributed network infrastructure that supports a large enterprise user base. This role plays a critical part in designing and maintaining secure, high-performing local, wireless, and wide-area networks to ensure maximum uptime, reliability, and scalability.

This position requires deep expertise in core networking technologies, including TCP/IP, VoIP systems, SD-WAN, and access control frameworks. The role balances strategic architecture contributions with hands-on troubleshooting and operational support, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both designing resilient systems and solving real-world network challenges.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain network environments by defining system configurations, directing installations, and establishing standards
• Develop and deploy new network solutions while improving the resilience and performance of existing infrastructure
• Provide comprehensive support for network devices including routers, switches, and associated protocols—covering configuration, troubleshooting, and ongoing maintenance
• Monitor network performance, diagnose issues, and coordinate upgrades to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency
• Support and troubleshoot Voice over IP (VoIP) systems and overall network connectivity
• Provide support for wireless environments, including access points and connected devices such as laptops, handhelds, voice-enabled devices, printers, and operational equipment
• Partner with security teams to enforce network security policies, manage access controls, and ensure timely updates to firmware and software across devices
• Maintain accurate inventory of network hardware and infrastructure components
• Coordinate procurement and distribution of networking equipment across locations as needed
• Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for network architecture, processes, and procedures
• Manage and prioritize incoming requests and escalations to ensure timely resolution and strong service delivery

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on networking experience in an enterprise environment
• Exposure to network security principles and practices preferred
• Industry certifications such as CCNA or equivalent preferred

Technical Skills:

• Experience with network infrastructure including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless technologies (Cisco or similar platforms preferred)
• Familiarity with network authentication protocols such as 802.1X preferred
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals across Layers 1–3 of the OSI model
• Experience with TCP/IP networking, SD-WAN, and VoIP systems
