Job Description

Join a dynamic team in an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) where you'll provide high-quality nursing care to patients with a variety of conditions, including neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory issues. The unit has 64 beds, with 15 designated for neuro patients. You will be responsible for monitoring patient progress, administering medication, and coordinating with healthcare professionals to provide optimal care.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients in the IMCU/PCU setting.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Perform necessary procedures such as managing temp pacers, chest tubes, and A lines.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding ongoing care and recovery.
• Utilize specialty equipment including Bipap and complex ventilators.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Active New York Registered Nurse license.
• 2+ years of experience in an IMCU/PCU or similar setting.
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Documentation of travel experience in nursing roles.
• EMR experience with EPIC is required.
