Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate

Loyal Source Government Services is looking for full-time Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate to provide services to military families at Barksdale Air Force Base. Job Summary The Domestic Abuse Victim Advocate (DAVA) is a member of multidisciplinary Family Advocacy Program team and is responsible for providing administrative, technical, and prevention services. The DAVA shall provide support to domestic abuse victims and collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure proper victim support. Pay $29.57/hour Duties Responsible for case management of each victim engaged in services. Case management entails administering assessment, care coordination, advocacy, monitoring, applicable documentation, and planning Offer victims information regarding their identified needs (e.g., emergency shelter, housing, childcare, legal services, clinical resources, medical services, transitional compensation) Offer follow up services to each victim including empowering the victim, support of the victim self-determiniation in decision making, providing information and referral on military and civilian resources Participate in role approved scheduled program meetings Collaborate with the FAP clinician and brief the FAP clinician prior to the CCS so they have most current information on the victim and any involved children Accompany the victim to appointment or court proceedings when requested by the victim May transport the victim to important appointments (i.e., medical, court, protective actions) if approved by the FAPM Keep the FAPM and designated POC (e.g., on-call mental health provider, emergency room) informed of the DAVA's location and timelines when providing victim advocate services including location, arrival, and departure notification Shall support the FAIS to develop system advocacy, education, and public awareness of domestic abuse Continually evaluate the quality of the installation's CCR Collaborate with base agencies to improve the system response to victims Serve as a liaison and establish partnership with installations FAC and reports to the FAPM Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of installation DA policies and protocols with local victim shelters and inter-service support agreements Supports FAP Secondary Prevention and Client Engagement (SPaCE) and NPSP prevention activities Actively participate in all resiliency initiatives designed to prevent domestic abuse Qualifications Must have a bachelor's degree from an accredited university in any of the following disciplines: Social Work, Psychology, Marriage, Family, and Child Counseling, Counseling or Behavioral Services, Criminal Justice or related field Upon hire or within 6 months of hiring, the DAVA must obtain and maintain the Basic Advocate credential with designation of Comprehensive Intervention Specialist as approved and offered by the National Advocate Credentialing Program- which is overseen by the National Organization for Victims Assistance Minimum of two years of experience providing advocacy services to victims of domestic abuse or sexual assault About Loyal Source Loyal Source provides healthcare and technology solutions designed to improve outcomes and support mission-critical operations.
