Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments upon admission and develop individualized plans of care based on patient and family needs, updating and modifying as the patient condition evolves.
• Administer patient medications in accordance with the five rights: Right Patient, Right Medication, Right Route, Right Dose, and Right Time.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation to support continuity of care across the healthcare team.
• Delegate appropriate patient care tasks to healthcare technicians and validate completion of delegated responsibilities throughout the shift.
• Prioritize patient safety through consistent compliance with fall precautions, pressure ulcer prevention, isolation protocols, and ambulation safety measures.
• Utilize critical thinking and nursing judgment to identify and respond to changes in patient status, promoting effective interdisciplinary communication and care coordination.

• Minimum of one (1) year of relevant registered nursing experience.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or higher.
• Active Illinois RN License in good standing.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Experience in a Med/Surg unit with exposure to observation status patients and high-volume admission/discharge workflows.
• Familiarity with interdisciplinary care coordination and patient education practices.
