Details Work on a 32-bed Medical/Surgical Innovation Unit focused on new technology and nursing practice models Unit utilizes Hercules beds 1:6 patient ratio Day shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00-19:00) Every other weekend AM shift required Staff self-schedule in rotating weekly groups Holiday rotation required, including one summer and one winter holiday Floating required to cover staffing needs as needed Meditech charting system experience preferred Requirements Active VA or compact RN license required BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of RN experience required Community hospital experience preferred Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs, peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration Respiratory skills needed including oxygen administration, nasal cannula, oral suctioning, and HFNC Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound care required Experience with cardiac monitoring, telemetry, and rapid response/code teams required Experience with medication administration including heparin, insulin, and PCA required Additional Information Provide direct patient care on a medical/surgical unit that serves as an early adopter of new technologies and equipment Complete drug screen at Employee Health on first day before starting first shift the following day Zero-tolerance drug policy in place; medical marijuana cards are not accepted Fit testing required, which includes shaving facial hair unless an approved medical exemption is provided in advance First-time travelers are welcome to apply Local candidates within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted Candidates who previously worked as permanent staff at the facility within the past 24 months will not be considered RTO policy is based on holidays falling within the assignment: one holiday means it must be worked, two means one must be worked, and three means two must be worked American Traveler Job ID P-749659.
