TPWD - Seasonal Social Media and Digital Marketing Clerk - State Park Police (Fluctuating Hours)

General Description Under the general supervision of the Recruitment Program Coordinator Lieutenant for Texas State Park Police, this temporary opportunity performs entry‑level to routine (journey‑level) clerical work. It is designed for individuals to gain experience competitive for future positions in marketing, social media, and promotional programs. Duties include, but are not limited to, marketing and promotional programs, state park law enforcement observation, developing, planning, and executing creative social media content across platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Additional responsibilities encompass creating marketing material for conferences, career fairs, and printouts; collaborating with Texas Parks and Wildlife employees and recruiters to align strategies with overall marketing objectives; monitoring social media trends and audience preferences; engaging with the community, responding to comments, fostering positive online interactions; contributing new ideas for campaigns and initiatives; performing special projects and assigned training; and complying with all Agency, Division, and Branch rules, regulations, and procedures. Minimum Qualifications Completion of the 8th grade. No experience required. Must possess or obtain within 30 days a valid state driver’s license. Preferred Qualifications Twelve or more college semester hours in marketing, communications, photojournalism, or a closely related field. One year or more of experience working in marketing, communications, photojournalism, or a closely related field. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of social media platforms and presenting associated data. Skill in using MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Customer service skills in a courteous and professional manner. Interaction skills with staff at all levels and with other State agencies and organizations. Working Conditions Applicants aged 16 or 17 may be considered in compliance with Texas Child Labor Laws. The position requires 10–40 hours per week Monday through Friday, including flexibility for weekends and holidays. Work involves occasional outdoor effort in adverse weather, potential use of a State vehicle (except for 16–17 year olds), and 50% travel with possible overnight stays.
